The conservation village of Aberlady is within easy reach of Edinburgh by road and rail from nearby Drem station. It is surroundered by arable farmland and the coast is the famous Aberlady reserve. There is a shop, a post office and 2 pubs and restaurants in the village and there are more extensive facilities in Haddington ( 4 miles) or North Berwick ( 7 mi).
