Over the next five years we will work in partnership with house-builders and developers to create 1,000 new homes across Scotland.
This is an important step forward in providing homes at reasonable rents for people who can't afford private sector rented accommodation and have no realistic opportunity of being allocated social housing in the near future. This will ensure that people can continue living and working in their own communities.
The LAR Housing Trust, launched in October 2015, is an independent housing charity and will help to transform the lives of many hundreds of people in Scotland by offering high quality homes at affordable rent levels.
