The qualification that can open many doors for property agents is officially approved by Scottish Government
Propertymark Qualifications recently launched Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 6 Certificate in Property Agency (Lettings) has been officially recognised by the Scottish Government, which has many benefits for property agents.
After a recent review, the Scottish Government decided that the qualification properly covers the ‘breadth of work captured by the matters in the regulations and meets the appropriate attainment level’ for letting agents wishing to join its letting agent process.
It can now be viewed on the mygov.scot website.
This qualification is flexible for those intending to become a property agent, and because of its industry-established reputation, it enables aspiring property professionals in sales, lettings and commercial to ‘shape their learning’ to meet individual circumstances.
For example, if you finish a lettings qualification, you do not have to repeat the exact same learning and assessment that is also included as part of a sales qualification.
This level 6 qualification consists of four units, and students must select a pathway based on the nation they will be practicing in alongside their suited specialism.
There are two compulsory units that provide crucial knowledge for everyone, covering the role and practice of a property professional.
The third unit explores general law and practice, suitable to your selected country, whilst the fourth unit covers the chosen specialism regardless of whether that be sales, lettings or commercial.
The great benefit of this new qualification is that the two compulsory units enable you to gain extra qualifications in residential sales if you would like to. Therefore, you can enlarge your knowledge and assist your career progression.
