Citylets will again be taking a lead sponsorship of National Landlord Day in partnership with the Scottish Association of Landlords (SAL). The event to be held at Dynamic earth in Edinburgh on Nov 12th will be comprised of a mix of expert and government speakers including Housing Minister Margaret Burgess MSP, a large trade exhibition and all the usual lively debate. It will be chaired by BBC Scotland’s political editor, Brian Taylor.
In what will be our 5th year of sponsorship, in an era where the rate of legislative change has and will continue to be rapid, we are delighted to continue supporting those that support and represent letting agents in Scotland.
In response SAL, providers of a wide range of membership benefits to landlords and letting agents, recently established the Council of Letting Agents (CLA) to represent and lobby on behalf of its 295 letting agent members.
Commenting on the formation of the CLA, Chief Executive of SAL John Blackwood, said:
‘The response and interest we have received from letting agents throughout Scotland has been very encouraging. With 58 new members since the formation of the CLA, we are proud to be the biggest voice for letting agents in Scotland.
Since we established the CLA we have met with both the Housing Minister and the Scottish Government ensuring that our members’ opinions and interests are being heard at the very highest levels of government.’
Kathleen Gell, the newly appointed convenor of the CLA, said that she is confident that the CLA will be the pre-eminent member organisation for professional letting agents in Scotland. Her aim is that the CLA will set standards for membership and provide support and development opportunities for members as part of a comprehensive package of benefits.
